The Story

I've been making music since the age of 14, with drums as my primary instrument. At about 17 I was asked to play simple bass line for a friend who was a guitar player. I watched him play and thought, "I can do that".

So I did......

My first guitar was a hand-me-down no-name classical guitar. I put metal strings on it -- string broke -- finger bled - I turned it into a bird feeder. Got my hands on a better acoustic.. and so it began.
I have been playing guitar and singing since the early 90's.  Early influences were REM, U2, Peter Gabriel, Genesis, Rush and of course, The Tragically Hip.  I love Can-Con.

My Dad used to play classical music to me as a kid, and ask me to pick out instruments.  I think this was a very formative time in my musical life.  I hear music differently because of it.
I focused my singing on harmonies early on when I was primarily drumming, influenced then by the influx of female artists.

I've mainly been playing acoustic guitar, building loops and singing as of late, although I am still drumming occasionally .
I have performed in many bars/patios/parties from  Lindsay to Barrie, Northbrook to New Market, Whitby to Cornwall, and in New York State (Potsdam and Massena).  I've been fortunate to have played drums for Juno Nominee/Canadian Aboriginal Award Winner Digawolf at the main stage at Major's Hil Park during Canada Day celebrations here in Ottawa, as well as participate in shooting a CTV television show called 'First Story' highlighting successful Aboriginal peoples.

It's safe to say that music does consume me........as much as I continue to consume it.
